Report illegal content

Report illegal content and conduct that is inappropriate or contrary to Rentalia’s General Terms and Conditions

At Rentalia, we strive to maintain our platform as a trustworthy environment. Therefore, we invite our users to report any illegal content that they detect, as well as inappropriate conduct or conduct contrary to our terms and conditions. Everyone’s collaboration is essential to maintain a safe online space.

What is considered illegal content?

Any information posted or transmitted through Rentalia that is considered illegal under applicable laws or is related to illegal activities.

We understand that illegal content is, for example, a listing for accommodation that contains discriminatory information (e.g., that alludes to preferences regarding the sexual orientation or religious beliefs of travellers) or that is intended to commit fraud or scams.

What are considered inappropriate conduct or conduct contrary to Rentalia’s General Terms and Conditions?

Inappropriate behaviour is any behaviour or posting of content on Rentalia that violates our terms and conditions, such as spamming, phishing, insulting other members, or listings of accommodation that are contrary to the rules for posting content on Rentalia’s website and apps.

How to report illegal content and conduct that is inappropriate or contrary to Rentalia’s General Terms & Conditions

You can report any listing that contains illegal or inappropriate material using the contact form available on our website. Please be sure to identify the content to us and clearly describe the problem identified.

For law enforcement and other relevant authorities, we offer a direct channel via email at [email protected].

We recommend that you complete all the information requested in the corresponding form so that we can provide you with information on the evolution and resolution of the case. We appreciate the cooperation of all our users in building and maintaining a safe environment on our website and apps.

How to appeal a decision on reported content

If you report illegal content or inappropriate behaviour, we will investigate the case and inform you of the action we will take. You will receive our decision by email, once you have provided it to us.

If you disagree with our decision, you can appeal against it by replying to the same email address from which we contacted you, explaining why you think the decision was wrong and providing any evidence you have to support it. This will help us to better assess the case.

You can lodge an appeal within 6 months of receiving notification of Rentalia’s decision. Please note that each decision can only be appealed once. In addition, the user whose content or behaviour has been reported may also appeal our decision and any action taken against them.

Notwithstanding the above, all users will have the option to appeal our decisions, as a last resort:

  • by filing a dispute with a certified out-of-court dispute resolution body; or
  • by bringing an action before the national courts in accordance with applicable local law.
