Regulation
Requirements and registration procedure
The Comunidad de Madrid regulates tourist lets (Viviendas de Uso Turístico) and requires that they appear is the Register of Tourist Businesses (Registro de Empresas Turísticas), and that the identification number of the Register is shown in the advertisement for the accommodation. To register your tourist accommodation, you must present an affidavit and ensure that the property complies with a series of requirements:
– the property must be rented as one single unit, not room by room.
– all tourist rental apartments must provide a specific telephone number for permanent consumer support.
– there must be a wireless internet connection (WiFi).
– you have to display a sign somewhere visible in the entrance door to the property that identifies it as tourist accommodation.
To ensure that you meet all these requirements and to learn more about the registration process, we recommend that you consult this page (in Spanish).
