Regulation
Decreto 75/2005, de 24 de junio, por el que se regulan los apartamentos turísticos y alojamientos vacacionales (modificado por Decreto 37/2011, de 8 de abril)
Requirements and registration procedure
The Gobierno de la Región de Murcia regulates holiday rentals (Alojamientos Vacacionales), which includes vacation properties, and requires that they appear in the Register of Tourist Businesses and Activities in the Region of Murcia (Registro de Empresas y Actividades Turísticas de la Región de Murcia). To register your tourist accommodation, you must present an affidavit and ensure that the property – standalone apartments, bungalows, villas, houses and similar – complies with a series of requirements:
– ensure that the property has an occupancy certificate (cédula de habitabilidad) or equivalent documentation, or a first occupancy licence (licencia de primera ocupación) if it’s a new construction.
– there should be a sign outside the property that identifies it as tourist accommodation.
– the owners of tourist housing should have a logbook to record the full names of all the guests and clients they have.
To ensure that you meet all these requirements and to learn more about the registration process, we recommend that you consult this section which aims to clear up the main doubts and questions about tourist lets (in Spanish).
